P3: TITLE - DEVELOP IDEAS FOR SOUND ELEMENTS FOR AN IDENTIFIED PURPOSE
Develop Ideas For Sound Elements for an Identified Purpose/What is the Idea?
I am making a 5 minute opening for an audio book it will be based off of Marry Shelley’s Frankenstein and it will be chapter 5. This is for BBC Radio 4 as they are known for doing radio dramas an their station. At the beginning I want to give the feeling of impending doom seeing as chapter 5 is all about the creation of the monster by using dark eerie music and trying to modernise the book so more people can understand how dark the book is. The music however calms when Frankenstein meets his friend later in the chapter, where another actor will portray the character in a way that is concerned. I will be using a narrator and actors for the different roles and I will be making my own sound effects not sourcing any of them, but I am going to be sourcing music for this. For example as the narrator begins and continues onto the second paragraph, I think the sound effects should get increase, as well as the music, making the atmosphere intense, with the sound effects and the music both building up it will represent something inhuman or even monstrous is wakening and will cause the listeners to be wary and feel fear.
How does the idea meets the brief?
My idea meets the brief because it is about Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and it is only Chapter 5 of her book it will also be an audio piece and it will include such things as actor readings (voice overs/actors) to make it dramatic, my on sound effects/ ambient sounds that will not be sourced and will include background music, this will be sourced, I will also make sure that it is 5 minuets long or however long it will take to read the entirety of chapter 5 of Frankenstein.
