M3: SHOW AN UNDERSTANDING OF FEEDBACK AND BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO QUESTIONS
Self Evaluation
After watching my presentation I feel to improve my presentation I would probably include how I would market and distribute my product. In terms of myself I feel like I included to many sentence fillers (um, like, etc). I found this to be a problem because it made my presentation sound unprofessional and this is because I ended up feeling more nervous than I thought I would be.
List of Questions
Have you had any feedback from your target audience in terms of the ideas that i had come up with?
Can you justify spending the BBC's licence fee money on your show?
How are you going to market and distribute your product e.g. social media platforms? I answered this by saying that I will use the main social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Instagram. Twitter to share hashtags and use the actors profiles on twitter to gain support, I also said to use Instagram to post stories on there. I should of included youtube and that I would use it to post trailers and teasers for each episode.
How does your location and settings stay within our budget? I responded by saying because most of my location is set in places that I would have easy access to such as a school, house or I could build a certain set such as a basement in Isaac's house where I feel like most of them with go to discuss how they are going to find their friend this could be built in a studio. We could also film in urban areas like a city or somewhere busy, this will be easy as long as we ask for permission. I said this because thats what the audience want they want different locations and settings to make the show more interesting. Do you think your product will actually conform to the BBC remit? (Inform, Educate and Entertain) I said that it can inform and educate people about how teenagers actually feel and what they go through such as teenagers sexuality for example I have a gay character within my show so that can help, people going through the same situation or a similar situation. I feel like it can entertain people in terms of the mystery aspect of the show, and having to solve a mystery in such a small and seemingly normal town. Here are some questions that one of the executives asked that was ill that day but I had sent her the video of my pitch.
How many episodes for the first series (if commissioned from the pilot)? How should we release the episodes? One per week on Thursday at 9pm? All at the same time? I would have probably have 6 to 8 episodes for the first series as this is a typical length for a teen drama to be, an example of this would be, Misfits which is a UK teen drama which only has 6 episodes in the first season.
What would be main competition? How could we take this in to consideration?
How many viewers do you think we could get? What evidence do you have for these figures?
