The general public
This website has stories on things such as the issues to do with the NHS, Global issues such as refugees and mostly the British government. The website has an option for you to sign up so that people can create their own account and they will then be able to produce and or publish news stories that are their own. The website also has the feature of the public training courses and easy writing templates, making it easier for new people to produce and publish their own news stories. It also states that they hold small events for their news stories meaning if there was an activist news story they would have an event supporting the course. They get their funds from donations from the general public. I think the website is aimed towards the British public as many of the stories are based on events that happen in Britain. The website is also easy to read therefore the age range would be 12+
Brexit Global Voices vs BBC Global voices is another website that produces citizen journalism and we media. The BBC is a corporation that reports stories from a non bias perspective. Similarities:
Both have stories on brexit
Both of their articles/stories are aimed at the British public
Differences:
The BBC talks about all the important politicians
Global voice talks to the working class
The BBC talks about what could happen to Britain after Brexit
Global Voice doesn’t talk about Britain after Brexit
The BBC are not bias when reporting/writing about Brexit
Global Voices only has a negative opinion on Brexit which is bias
The BBC has many pics and videos of politicians reactions t the results and quotes from various social media.
Global Voices only has one picture with the caption Britain heartbroken but not broken which again is negative and bias
